Sinthamani Divine Life Ashram

Sinthamani Divine Life Ashram is an orphanage in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that cares for approximately 43 children, 3 single mothers and 5 old folks.

It was formed in 2001 by B. Praveendran who funds the orphanage through his day job. Mr. Praveendran founded Sinthamani Divine Life after an incident where he saw a child eating out of a dumpster in KL. The ashram accept the children from family members who bring them; the children’s parents are often deceased or drug abusers.

The ashram volunteers raise the children until they are 18 years old, after which they head to school and are on their own.  The children are separated into two rooms, one for boys and one for girls. The girls sleep in bunk beds while the boys sleep in single twin beds in long rows across the room.
